James Bacque’s Papers at UofT Library

James Bacque’s papers up to 2008 have been donated to the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library in the University of Toronto Library where they are available to researchers and scholars without restrictions. Of special interest to readers of Other Losses are the research material and archival documents used in the writing of the book. Hundreds of first hand reports by German POW held by the Allies are arranged alphabetically according to the camp name, the largest collection of such documents outside Germany.  The finding aid is available online at:

The papers from 2008 onwards still held by the author, include basic research and draft manuscripts for other books and plays not yet published, and  for the 2016 film/DVD Other Losses.
